5 Quick Ways To Improve Mental Game

1. Positive Thinking

Positive thinking is probably one of the most cliche pieces of advice anyone has ever been given. However, it is definitely the most effective on your golf game. Instead of thinking about the shot you don’t want to hit, think about the shot you do want to hit. Would you rather hit a bad shot knowing you were going to hit a bad shot or hit a bad shot trying to hit a good shot? Trying your best on every shot will get you better results then you expect.

You will start to realize that you feel more comfortable over the ball and you’re giving more of a committed swing.

2. Talk To Yourself

Talking to yourself on the golf course is very important and can help you perform better. It also sometimes helps take the pressure off the shot and makes you feel more comfortable. If you watch a lot of golf, you will notice that Jordan Spieth tends to talk to himself a lot. It relieves stress and helps you stay calm over the golf shot.

Talk to yourself and give yourself advice, sometimes you need expert advice 😜

3. Be Your OWN Caddie

Sometimes when you’re on the golf course, your playing partner or people will just try to help you out and plan your shot. Whatever you feel comfortable with… DO that. Don’t let someone else just tell you what type of shot you should hit. Just trust yourself to make the right decision.

You know your yardages better than anyone. Unless you’re trying to hit a drive 300 yards over water, then maybe let your playing partner pour some knowledge into your brain.

4. Pre Shot Routine

Having a pre shot routine will help you release all your stress and the pressure you feel. A pre shot routine helps you get in the zone, it helps you narrow down to your target and just have way better focus. All high level and skilled golfers have a pre shot routine for a reason.

5. Trust

Having trust over your shot is the key to shooting lower scores. Once you trust yourself on the golf course you will have very little fear and will hit better shots more consistantly. It’s the trick to playing great golf and hitting the ball towards your target more consitantly.
